By the same token, you can have different starting points for different types of customers, too. Q)  How do you guide people towards your main page when so often people back door into your site.

As for taking your idea a step further, it is my guess that most of us with business sites put everything on the site for fear of having somebody stop by and not meeting their needs.  Whenever I see effective site makeovers it is always the pairing down of unnecessary content.  I think if we left our sites exactly how they are but simply paired them down into three or four different &quot;mindsets&quot; from our current content we could achieve exactly what you are talking about with very little effort.
