Solar flares may cause disruptions (that’s the good news)

by Bruce Kasanoff on March 8, 2012

Two solar flares are heading toward Earth and today may disrupt power grids, GPS and airplane flights. Larger flares may follow in the coming days and weeks. Next year could be even worse. All the top news sites are writing about this.

Meanwhile, four disruptive forces have been building steadily and have the potential to turn 30% or more of the Fortune 500 into the next Kodak: from dominant to bankrupt, seemingly overnight. That’s the story told by our forthcoming book, Smart Customers, Stupid Companies.

The moral of the story: don’t worry about solar flares; worry about your customers being smarter than your company.
